First part:What's Kraft Paper?

Second part:How is Kraft paper made?

1.The structural components of wood are lignin and cellulose. Since lignin can not be made into good paper, it must be separated from cellulose.

2.The chips are cooked in a liquid made from sodium sulfide and sodium hydroxide. They break down lignin and cellulose, leaving behind solid wood pulp.

3.At this point, the wood chips have been converted to pulp and screened to remove larger chips.
